Muhammad Ijaz K Download résumé

Muhammad Ijaz K (known simply as Ijaz, or Ijaz AMD), Infrastructure DevOps engineer (CAD) at AMD in Hyderabad. I run the servers, licenses and automation that chip designers in San Jose, Atlanta and Ireland build on.

I keep silicon design running.

EDA license optimization

I own and run the enterprise monitoring system for 100+ EDA licenses (FlexLM). It flags idle and repeated checkouts and notifies users to end inactive sessions, so capacity comes back and license spend falls. Around it I manage IBM Spectrum LSF compute workloads and NAS/NFS storage quotas.

Multi-site CAD infrastructure

I administer 20+ Methodics ICM servers alongside Perforce Helix Core and Git for silicon design teams in San Jose, Atlanta and Ireland, with fine-grained LDAP bindings and IP-release permissions. I also install, configure and maintain 40+ EDA packages and third-party IP libraries (Synopsys, Cadence, Arm, TSMC) on production RHEL design clusters.

Query telemetry and dashboards

I built Dremio query-monitoring dashboards that give instant insight into query execution, and Jira ticket-tracking dashboards that 10–15 teams use to move faster. I also maintain the Dremio and dbt views behind chip verification metrics: timing, power and EMIR.

Self-service tools and automation

I wrote 60+ cron-scheduled jobs for health checks, disk monitoring and cleanup, and set up Nagios disk-full alerting on the ICM servers plus Prometheus and Grafana dashboards. I built a self-service web app (FastAPI, React/Vite) for engineers to analyze query performance, with CVE assessments and secure secrets handling. Claude Code and MCP servers are part of my daily command-line work, under guardrails: read-only queries, CVE assessments, zero unreviewed write actions.

Four clocks, one infrastructure

  • San Jose, CaliforniaArchitecture & timing signoff Pacific time
  • Atlanta, GeorgiaEmulation & verification Eastern time
  • IrelandSilicon IP packages & libraries Irish time
  • Hyderabad, India (me)CAD infrastructure & 24/7 automation Indian time

The teams I support work across three sites while I work from Hyderabad. Health checks, disk alerts and cleanup run on schedules, so they keep going when a site is off the clock.

About Muhammad Ijaz (Ijaz at AMD)

I am Muhammad Ijaz K (known to colleagues and the semiconductor engineering community simply as Ijaz, Ijaz AMD, or Muhammad Ijaz AMD) · a CAD infrastructure, data and DevOps engineer with an MCA from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum (CET), and more than four years at AMD supporting silicon design teams across San Jose, Atlanta and Ireland. In semiconductor engineering, CAD represents the high-performance computing clusters, EDA licensing, version control, and data systems that chip designers work on every day. I also integrate AI coding workflows daily · Claude Code and MCP servers · bounded by clear operational guardrails.
